2.0 A different animal

So I released the 2.0 tool yesterday after completely re-writing the whole datamodel from the ground up including redeveloping the SQL. There were some red herrings that I came across, but in general things have gone well. 25% reduction in file size while adding more data and some more intangible efficiencies. Look out for more posts shortly as I go through areas of the development.

So, a question: is Continual Service Improvement the “same thing” as the discipline of Continuous Improvement? You know, are things like Six Sigma involved sometimes?

Continual Service Improvement is an ITIL term. My job role is to drive improvements in our IT consumption and usage. Six Sigma is a broader spectrum so I’m sure there’s a solid correlation… he says to the guru.

We’ve seen major improvements in our delivery and operational performance since I started transitioning reporting into the Microsoft stack, long term I would like to move into the cloud with PowerBI, but even with just PowerPivot and Power Query everything has been turned around. It was worth buying the book and taking the course 🙂
